Back-To-School Product Review: Epson Portable Label Printer (LW-600)

The back-to-school countdown has officially begun in my home.

With only 48 hours before the start of my daughter’s first day of preschool, I’ve been busy stocking up on all of the typical school supply essentials: crayons, markers, pencils and construction paper. While those are no-brainer buys, label makers should also be included on those back-to-school lists.

Recently, I had the opportunity to review the Epson Portable Label Printer (LW-600P) and couldn’t be happier with the product. Since many students will have the same supplies, I’ve been eagerly using the label printer to personalize most of her items.

The handy, wireless gadget is super easy to setup and is compatible with most tech devices including: tablets, smartphones, PCs and Macs. Sometimes I can be a tech-phobe, but printing out my labels on my Android was a breeze.

Simply download the Epson iLabel app to your device  (via Bluetooth) and you’ll be able to print and customize labels effortlessly at your convenience. You can create handwritten labels and even iron-ons! The app also provides a nice selection of fonts, making designing fun. Also, I found that having the ability to review the text before printing sets this label maker apart from the old-school ones I’m familiar with. This feature saves tape and ultimately, time.

This label printer is an overall good organizational household item, but it’s especially useful for families with young school-aged children.  Remember, it’s always a good idea to label your child’s belongings to prevent unnecessary mixups and prevent theft at school. Plus, what young kid doesn’t like seeing his/her name on stuff?

Do you use labels to personalize and/or customize your child’s belongings?
