Pretty in Pink

Did you know that according to government statistics, 1 in 6 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point during their lifetime? While the numbers are startling, all hope is not lost. We can help reduce our risk by seeking screening early. Early detection is by far one of the most effective ways to fight the disease.

I’ve lost two aunts to the disease and feel as though they might be here today if they had caught it early enough.

Don’t waste another day, do a self-exam, get a mammogram and take a friend!

Take a look at some of these products that donate a portion of their proceeds to helping find a cure for breast cancer.

Avon Pink Kisses Umbrella available at www.avon.com for $10

Lip, eye, and cheek palette available at www.sephora.com for $15 (a $55 value)

Hunter Boots available at www.nordstrom.com for $125.

KitchenAid Cook for a Cure Set available at www.macys.com from $159-$399.

Have you ever had a mammogram? Do you perform self-exams?

Pretty in Pink!

Last year I noticed the trend of hot pink lips, but it seems to be even more prevalent this summer. During my visit to Miami’s swim wear fashion shows last weekend, I noticed that the majority of the models on the runway were donning hot pink lips and cheeks. Although I have yet to paint my pucker pink, I have opted to go bold with an electric shade of pink on my nails. I’ve also gone for bright pink blushes because they instantly add color and dimension. The eye-catching candy-colored hue always seems to add a bit of girly flirtiness that seems so suitable for the summer!

  3. Pink is nice but I think it’s better suited on you younger BGs. How I envy you cause back in the day I would have had a pink pout for sure! Now I will put pink on my toes WITH a couple of rhinestones and I dare anyone to say anything about it!

  4. I would like to try pink!!! I am always looking for something new.

  5. I love pink everything, and if I could get away with it I’d wear all of that pink make up – at the same time!

  6. Um…not sure if I would try pink.

  7. Hot pink makeup, mmmh. I would wear a dark pink though. The Iredale lipstick is a nice color. I would wear a hot pink accessory.

that Essie Nail Color is like second skin to me

  10. I’m a fan of hot pink lips on other folks. I’m afraid I’d look like a low budget barbie. I heard lilac was in for nails this summer too and I saw someone wearing it and it’s CA-YUTE!!!

I love muted pinks though, almost white for nails. 🙂

Another similar and great lip/nail colour perfect for summer: violet & lilac hues. Abslutely LOVE MAC’s ‘Up the Amp’ <3
