With the Grammys only a few days away, it seems only fitting that Madame Tussauds has chosen to celebrate Whitney Houston’s legacy.
Today, the late iconic singer’s likeness will be immortalized in wax with four amazingly striking figures. The unveiling will take place here in New York City and will become part of the permanent exhibits at each of the Madame Tussauds around the country.
The four figures showcase various highlights in her career including: her image from the hit song/video, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)”, her famous rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner” in 1991, her portrayal of Rachel Marron in “The Bodyguard,” and a portrait taken from her last studio album in 2009.
The incredibly detailed and time-consuming process took four months to complete by a team of specially trained artists and cost approximately $1.2 million for the four figures.
And unlike some recent projects with Houston being the subject, the family seems to be behind the project 100%.
Speaking on behalf of the family and The Whitney Houston Estate, Pat Houston said: “We were extremely honored when Madame Tussauds’ approached us about doing not one, but four figures of Whitney from different points in her 30-year career. This is something we are excited to do for the fans.”
If you can’t get enough of Houston’s music and career, be sure to tune in to Centric TV this weekend for a never-before seen documentary, Whitney Houston: Legend, which will feature interviews about the interviews about the legendary Whitney Houston in a never-before seen documentary, “Whitney Houston: Legend” (9pm EST).

While I try to monitor the amount of television my toddler watches, there’s one show that always gets the green-light in our house—Disney Junior’s “Doc McStuffins.”
This entertaining and educational cartoon debuted last March and features an adorable young African-American girl named “Doc,” who aspires to be a doctor like her mom. In the series, “Doc,” diagnoses and “finds cures” for her “ailing” toys.
The animated show helps to diminish toddlers’ fears associated with visiting doctors for routine check-ups, while teaching them the importance of being active and healthy. Plus, it promotes positive images for all children, especially those of color.
In honor of Black History Month, Disney Junior is debuting “We Are Doc McStuffins” interstitials that will feature three real-life African-American physicians sharing what their jobs entail, and saluting their heroes. They will begin airing today on Disney Junior (10:25 am and 4:25 pm EST ) followed by a brand new Valentine’s Day episode of “Doc Mcstuffins.” The short segments will run through spring.
The interstitials feature three of the founding members of the “We Are Doc McStuffins” movement – Dr. Myiesha Taylor, an emergency doctor based in Dallas; Dr. Aletha Maybank, a pediatrician in New York City; and Dr. Naeemah Ghafur, a family doctor in Los Angeles who provides specialized care for the underserved, including the elderly and patients with high-risk illnesses.

If you haven’t seen “Doc McStuffins,” definitely check it out! I enjoy watching it with my daughter because it’s an awesome animated show that encourages children to aspire to greatness!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly a year since Whitney Houston’s passing.
Since the superstar singer’s death, her family hasn’t shied away from the media. In fact, they even allowed cameras into their home to document their grieving process on the Lifetime reality show, “The Houstons.” With the show behind them, Whitney’s mother, Cissy Houston, is now sharing intimate details about her late daughter in the form of a book.
Available here, (starting Jan. 29); $19
In her memoir, “Remembering Whitney,” she opens up about their relationship, as well as the legendary singer’s drug use, marriage and rumored lesbian relationship with a former assistant.
Houston recently spoke with the queen of talk, Oprah Winfrey, to discuss her book and what it’s like a year after her beloved daughter’s death. The interview will air tonight on OWN’s “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” at 10pm EST.

Beyoncé always looks stunning, but the R&B and pop superstar amped up her natural beauty for her performance of the “Star-Spangled Banner,” for the 2013 Inauguration of President Barack Obama.
Dressed in a gorgeous Emilio Pucci gown and emerald Lorraine Schwartz earrings, celebrity makeup artist Mally Roncal complemented Beyoncé’s eye-catching ensemble with natural-looking makeup for the historic day.

Check out Mally’s tips and tricks to recreate the look using products from her Mally Beauty makeup line:
· To first set the skin, apply my Perfect Prep Poreless Primer all over the face and my Cancellation Concealer directly underneath the eyes.
· To achieve natural-looking coverage, first, apply my Ultimate Performance Liquid Foundation. Next, add a sweep of my NEW Diamond Unpowder that will illuminate the skin followed by brushing on my Effortless Airbrush Highlighter and Blush Duo to the cheeks in order to provide a soft, radiant glow to the skin.

Last night I wish I could’ve been at two places at one time!
BET Networks hosted a red carpet and press screening of two of its new original series, “The Real Husbands of Hollywood” and “Second Generation Wayans” here in New York City. However, I decided to check out a beauty event hosted by Burt’s Bees (more on that later this week) instead of catching the new shows.
Although I didn’t get a chance to attend the screening, I am looking forward to viewing both premieres tonight!
Here’s the lowdown on both shows:
“The Real Househusbands” is a semi-scripted show based on a skit that first premiered during the 2011 BET Awards. A spoof of the “Real Housewives” reality show franchise, comedian and producer Kevin Hart stars in the sure-to-be hilarious series along with co-stars Nick Cannon, Boris Kodjoe, Duane Martin, Robin Thicke and J.B Smoove.

From L to R: Cast members Nick Cannon, J.B. Smoove, Kevin Hart and Boris Kodjoe star in “The Real Househusbands of Hollywood,“ premiering Jan. 15, 10 p.m EST.
“Second Generation Wayans” is a completely scripted comedy series featuring Damien Dante Wayans, Craig Wayans, George O. Gore and Tatyana Ali. The show takes viewers on a fictional ride of what it’s like for the characters to make it in Hollywood having a famous last name.
