After listening to several people (Antithesis are you reading this?) try to convince me that I can in fact wear eye shadow, I have some news for you. BGG has found one that looks good! When my friends came to visit a couple weeks ago, they not only opened my eyes to the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner, but they also convinced me to try supermodel turned super-mogul, Iman’s newest eye shadows that I had been collecting dust in my makeup bag. These eye defining powders come in a snazzy bottle, which is different from most eye sha others. I always knew that she offered quality and affordable cosmetics, but I had never used any of her shadowsThis supermodel turned super-mogul has always made quality and affordable cosmetics. I had never tried any of her shadows, but these eye defining powders come in a snazzy bottle, which is refreshing.

I know that many of you are beauty buffs eye-shadows so I thought that you’d love to hear about the newest ones from Iman. The supermodel turned super-mogul has

Every Little Step I Take

As I’ve written many times before on BGG, I am not a shoe person. Don’t get me wrong, I love shoes, they just don’t love me back. I can hardly ever find comfortable shoes no matter the heel size, brand, price or material. I know the saying, “beauty is pain,” but my comfort is something that can’t be compromised no matter how hot a sexy stiletto may look. Luckily, I was recently introduced to the lifesaver for suffering feet – Foot Petals!

Stiletto Survival Kit available at www.footpetals.com for $49.95 (Prices vary from $4.95+)

These little pads of cushiony goodness now make it possible for me to stand in heels without cringing with every step. Just slip them into your shoes and you’re ready to hit the pavement in style!

Have you ever tried Foot Petals? Do you often allow your feet to suffer for the sake of looking good?

Get to the Root!

For all the BGs who wear their hair straight, I have found a product that you’ll surely love! This past weekend, I tried the R Sessions RootControl. This popular styling tool is part straightening comb and part 1/2 inch ceramic barrel iron. It gets (straightens) to the root of your hair allowing you to get close to the scalp without ever feeling the heat.

Plus, it has three heating levels that you can select depending on the coarseness of your tresses. At first, I wasn’t sure if it would do the job, but I was pleasantly pleased with the results considering I hadn’t had a relaxer in about 5 months. For women who desire straight styles or who just want to smooth out roots or edges, this tool is a must-have. It is the perfect complement to the trusty flat iron because it reaches areas that the ceramic plates can’t without burning your scalp. I think my hair styling arsenal is finally complete!

Available at www.rsessiontools.com for $179.99

Romantic Blouses in Bloom

During New York’s 7-day fashion-frenzy last week, I noticed that many of the runways were peppered with models donning structured shirts and tops with strong shoulders from designers’ fall collections. However, for spring that will definitely not be the case. This upcoming season stores will be stocked with silky chiffons and sexy sheers. This light-weight, lady-like look adds a bit of romance to any outfit.

Will you be wearing a billowy blouse this spring?

An Eye-Opening Product!

When it comes to the best eyeliner, I thought that I had found my tried and true – Revlon Colorstay. That was until my friends AZ and Z came to visit last week and introduced me to Bobbi Brown’s gel eyeliner. Indian women have mastered the technique and beauty of eyeliner application so I was definitely taking notes from my fellow brown girls. This little pot of black goo surprisingly goes on easily and smoothly with a fine-tipped brush creating a sexy, Cleopatra-esque look.

I’m not sure if I’d wear it everyday, but for nights out on the town, I’d definitely give it a whirl. So maybe Revlon Colorstay is still my tried and true for everyday use, while the gel one will be used to rim my peepers for special occasions.

Have you ever tried this product? If not, would you be willing to try it?

Magic Stick

Each year companies churn out hundreds of new beauty and skincare products made in hopes of landing in our makeup bags or bathroom cabinets. Well, 2009 is shaping up to be a beautiful year! So far, I’ve already come across one great new product that stands out from the bunch – Clearasil’s Pimple Blocker Pen.

Ok, I know you’re thinking Clearasil is for teenagers, but women of all ages are often plagued with pesky pimples still. This lightweight, yet powerful pimple-zapping pen contains 2% salicylic acid, which instantly penetrates the skin and gets right to the problem. Having tried scores of products that claim to treat blemishes, this is by far one of the best.

My favorite part about it is that it’s transparent and applied directly to the skin. Plus, it’s portable making it easy for the girl on the go. Tip: Don’t apply too much; if you do it becomes less transparent!
