Calling All Moms: The Children’s Place $25 Gift Card Giveaway!

Ever since my daughter, Ava, was born (nearly 3 years ago!), she’s been heavily outfitted in clothing from The Children’s Place.

Her entire wardrobe is at least 90% TCP, while the other 10% is divided between Target and GapKids. The fact that it’s only a couple of blocks away from my apartment probably helps, but even if it weren’t conveniently located, I’d still shop there frequently. The prices are always affordable and the clothes are nothing short of adorable. Plus, the quality is excellent, which is a huge selling point because we parents all know how quickly kids can wear out clothes!

TCP-kids

Last week, I was invited to a “shop day” at the store for a mini shopping spree. And since I enjoy shopping for Ava more than for myself, it was a real treat!

Ava and I were surrounded by sparkly sequin skirts, glittery holiday dresses and plenty of comfy PJs. There was so much cute stuff to choose from, I had to tear Ava away from the overload of goodies, especially the eye-catching accessories. After about an hour or so, we left with several items including: boots, jewelry, tops and bottoms!

Whether you have a newborn, toddler or tween, TCP is a great place to stock up on fashionable finds for less.

With only days left before Christmas, I’d love to give a lucky reader a $25 gift card to pick up a few last-minute stocking stuffers for the little BG or guy in your life!

Simply leave a comment telling me your favorite Christmas song and I’ll randomly select a reader and notify the winner tomorrow (to get it in the mail in time before the holidays).

**The winner is Soraya! Congrats! Thanks to all who entered. Stay tuned for more fun giveaways, etc!

6 Ladylike Leather Looks

Whether you prefer faux or the real deal, leather is one of the most popular fabrics in fashion. Lucky for me and fellow leather lovers, the luxe texture is cropping up everywhere this season.

From flirty skirts to sexy dresses, this quintessential tough-girl staple is getting an ultra-feminine update. With softer silhouettes, designers are proving that leather can be sweet and edgy. For me, that’s a winning combo.

Take a peek at some of my fave looks:

Skies Are Blue Faux Leather Skirt available here; $59

Target Offers New Price Match Policy

The holiday shopping season is upon us. That means two things: shopping and more shopping! For those looking for the best deals, Target, is going to make your season especially bright. For the first time in the store’s history, they’re offering a new online price match policy.

Meaning, they’re offering customers the ability to match select online competitors’ prices in its stores now until Dec. 16. Qualifying online retailers include Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com and Toysrus.com. And if that news didn’t bring enough holiday cheer to your ears, the Minneapolis-based retailer has also extended the timeframe for the policy, including Target.com. If a customer purchases a qualifying item at Target stores now until  Dec. 24, and then finds it for less at Target.com or in a local competitor’s printed ad, Target will match that price.

Not that I ever need an excuse to shop at Target, but this policy is definitely a plus!

When will you start your holiday shopping?

Get the Boot!

When it comes to boots, I’ve always been a riding, mid-calf, or semi thigh-high kind-of-girl. Well, for some reason this season I’m all about booties!

The short ankle style has been catching my eye due to it’s tough-girl kind of vibe. To me, booties give an instant edge to various ensembles. Whether worn with cord or denim skinnies or with tights and a skirt, they’re extremely versatile and provide a cool, laid-back look.

While I’m not completely giving up my standard styles, booties are definitely a fun way to mix up my boot collection.

Team Spirit Tees

Although I’ve been happily living in New York for nearly a decade, I still consider myself a true blue Chicagoan! That’s why I entered Junk Food Clothing’s contest to show off my hometown’s team spirit and personal style.

The vintage T-shirt company, gifted me and 14 other bloggers, tees of our fave teams from their new NFL 2012 collection. Each blogger had to submit a photo wearing the shirt and the person with the most votes will win 5 tees (a $160 value) of our choice from the brand.

I won’t lie; I don’t know a fumble from a free-throw (OK maybe that’s a stretch), so my way of supporting sports teams is to rock a cute mascot or logo emblazoned tee.  That’s why I thought this would be a fun contest to enter.

Check out my Chicago Bears Vintage Gameday look. If you like my style, vote for me here: http://pinterest.com/junkfoodtees/nfl-blogger-love/

Thanks in advance!!

P.S Here’s a close-up of the Kandee shoes that I’m wearing in the pic.

No matter what team you’re cheering for, there’s always a cute tee to let you do it in style!

Here are a few other cool team tees:
